Poi Dog Pondering's Aloha, Honolulu keeps running through my mind lately. The sky outside is gray and the wind is blustering here on my little island home in the Pacific Northwest.... but my mind is floating towards my old home...
I fly west on March 25 to perform See Me Naked at Hawaii Theatre Center, with shows March 27, 28 and 29. My last visit to Hawaii was in 2003, before I was a parent, before I was married even. My last time on a Hawaii stage was in...
1993?
Whoa. And wow.
I've been on dozens of stages since then. In Seattle, mostly, and in cities across Canada, and one in New York and one in Edinburgh, one in Omaha... Santa Cruz... Cape May...
in hundreds of performances. Many of them See Me Naked.
And now I get to bring that show to my one-time, always-in-my-heart home.
Honolulu.
What a magical life I have.

Tacoma Here We Come!
We checked out the theatre today- the lovely Studio III at the Broadway Center for the Performing Arts.
What a terrific place! Right in the heart of downtown Tacoma's theatre and arts district, and the lovely guy who showed us around was raving about the wonderful audiences there. The room itself is perfectly intimate - can't wait to load in and rehearse and perform!!! I guess I better start reviewing my lines....
Get tickets now - there are only 150 seats, so chances are they'll sell out before showtime! Visit:

Naked at WAA!
Well, almost.
A great, delightful show at the MASH-UP tonight - many thanks to theatre simple for organizing, and extra ginormous thanks to Ron Carnell, the rockingest drummer I've ever worked with.
Some lovely tidbits - one of the best stories yet from an audience member, about getting in trouble for being naked... skinny-dipping, when a man came motoring down the river - so she and her pals backed into NETTLES to try and hide. Ouch.
All in all, a very fun time on stage. Hoping for lots of bookings... maybe someday, soon, I'll be Naked in your town.
